Are the Edgar Cayce Prophecies coming true?

There seems to be a definite upswing in the level of seismic activity in the Mediterranean belt in the last decade. On 12th May, 2011 Spain was rocked by its worst earthquake in 50 years. More than 20,000 buildings are believed to have been damaged in the historic town of Lorca, with a population of around 90,000.  On April 1, 2011, a strong earthquake of magnitude 6.2 had struck the southern Greek island of Crete, rattling buildings as far away as Egypt and Turkey. Since 1998, there have been more than 11 earthquakes in Greece which have measured more than 6.0 on the Richter scale, although not all of them caused damage. This is substantially more than the number of earthquakes in previous decades.

In fact, from 1997 onwards, the level of earthquakes has really increased all over the globe. For instance, between 1986 and 1996 (inclusive), over a period of 11 years, there were 15 earthquakes listed by USGS having magnitude of 7.0 or greater. But between 1997 and 2007 (inclusive), over a period of 11 years, there have been 99 earthquakes with magnitude 7.0 or greater. This is more than a six-fold increase over the previous period. By limiting the statistic to earthquakes above 7.0, we can ensure that the increase in the number of earthquakes over this period cannot be attributed to a corresponding increase in the number of seismograph stations across the world, since such high intensity earthquakes above 7.0 could have been easily detected by a lower number of seismograph stations.

This conforms to our general belief that the earthquake numbers and intensities have really picked up from 1997 onwards. The most obvious increase, and the most damaging impact, has been in the countries in the Pacific belt – ‘the ring of fire’. The most devastating of these quakes were the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004, the catastrophic Haiti earthquake of 2010, multiple earthquakes in New Zealand, and finally the terrible tsunami in Japan in March 2011. There have been many more earthquakes of a smaller magnitude that have plagued the island nations of the Pacific over the past decade.

To someone who is aware of the Edgar Cayce prophecies, it all sounds hauntingly familiar. Are his prophecies coming true?

The great American psychic Edward Cayce (1877-1945) was affectionately referred to as the ‘sleeping prophet’. For more than 40 years, Cayce used to slip into an unconscious state and give psychic readings to thousands of seekers, diagnosing illnesses and revealing lives lived in the past, and making prophecies yet to come, all with an incredible accuracy. Cayce had the ability to put himself into a sleep-like unconscious state, by lying down on a couch, closing his eyes, and folding his hands over his stomach. He could then respond to a wide array of questions. He is the most documented psychic of the 20^th century and his psychic readings continue to benefit millions of people today.

In Reading 1602-3, Cayce mentions that the earth changes will start manifesting in the years around 1998, and that it will be a gradual process. "In 1998 we may find a great deal of the activities as have been wrought by the gradual changes that are coming about. These are at the periods when the cycle of the solar activity, or the years as related to the sun's passage through the various spheres of activity become paramount...to the change between the Piscean and the Aquarian age. This is a gradual, not a cataclysmic activity in the experience of the Earth in this period."

Cayce also provides certain signs which will tell us that we are entering the period of earth changes. In Reading 311-8 19, when he was asked, “How soon will the changes in the earth's activity begin to be apparent?” he responded by saying, “When there is the first breaking up of some conditions in the South Sea, and those as apparent in the sinking or rising of that that's almost opposite same, or in the Mediterranean, and the Aetna area, then we may know it has begun.”

Cayce is, therefore, clearly referring to an increase in the level of seismic activity in the Pacific and Mediterranean belt, starting from the years around 1998. This is exactly what we seem to be witnessing now. In the Mediterranean regions, in addition to the recent upswing in seismic activity, there have also been significant upheavals in the political and social sphere in the countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Syria all of which are bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

Are these the prophetic signs of the impending period of earth changes that were predicted by Edgar Cayce? If so, his predictions for the future are even dire. Cayce mentions that from ’58 to ’98, major earth changes will begin take place. This possibly refers to the period from 2058 to 2098, since the period of change begins in 1998.
In Reading 3976-15, he says:

"The earth will be broken up in the western portion of America.  The greater portion of Japan must go into the sea.  The upper portion of Europe will be changed as in the twinkling of an eye.  Land will appear off the east coast of America.  There will be the upheavals in the Arctic and in the Antarctic that will make for the eruption of volcanoes in the Torrid areas, and there will be shifting then of the poles - so that where there has been those of a frigid or the semi-tropical will become the more tropical, and moss and fern will grow.  And these will begin in those periods in '58 to '98, when these will be proclaimed as the periods when His light will be seen again in the clouds.  As to times, as to seasons, as to places, ALONE is it given to those who have named the name - and who bear the mark of those of His calling and His election in their bodies.  To them it shall be given."

Clearly, Cayce is prophesizing about epochal changes in the second half of this century, during the period after 2058. He talks about this period as the time when ‘His light will be seen again in the clouds’. This seems to indicate a transition to a new era, a new Yuga of enlightenment, as has been prophesized by various spiritual and religious adepts from around the world. Therefore, the current upswing in the seismic activity is only the beginning of this process of change, which will possibly culminate in cataclysmic changes that humanity has not witnessed in the past 5000 years of recorded history. Will Cayce be proven right yet again?
